The lifts are intended to create mobility for wheelchair users and will be installed in Ford vans. These will in turn be donated as gifts to individuals with limited mobility and various organisations by the Custodian of the two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz of Saudi Arabia.
"Entering into the business of vehicle adaptation for people with limited mobility comes with a lot of responsibility. By working together with industry leader Autoadapt from Sweden, we can ensure our end users receive safe and reliable products as well as support from experienced professionals. I see this as the beginning of a long standing cooperation between our two companies", says Mr. Khaled Bin Saeed of Skan International Co Ltd.
A first delivery of the wheelchair lifts has already been shipped and the last shipment is scheduled for delivery during June 2013. The order is the largest in the history of vehicle adaptation.
"These vehicles will have a very positive impact on the day to day life for the users. Helping people with disabilities live more independent always comes first hand to us and we’re proud to be part of this", says Peter Wahlsten Executive Vice President at Autoadapt.
